Views
The sidebar’s Navigate block holds Inbox, Focus, Calendar, Organize and Trash. The rest are reached from a project, a label, a filter, or the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Two groups: Overdue and Today. It lists every incomplete task with a due date on or before today, across every project you can see, your own and any shared with you.
“Today” is your day, in the timezone set in Preferences. The sidebar carries a live count.
Upcoming
Section titled “Upcoming”Everything due today or later, grouped by day. Each heading pairs the label with
the date in your chosen format: Tomorrow · 2026-03-04.
Days within the next week get their weekday name; anything further out is shown as a plain date.
Calendar
Section titled “Calendar”A month grid or a week grid, toggled in the header, showing incomplete tasks with due dates in the visible range.
- Month shows up to six weeks so leading and trailing days of neighbouring months are covered. Days with more tasks than fit get a “+N more” toggle.
- Week is a 24-hour column layout. Tasks with a due time are positioned at that time and sized by their duration; tasks without one sit in the all-day row at the top.
- Dragging a task to another day changes its due date.
- Weeks start on the day set in Preferences.
Arrows step one period, and the period label links back to today.
Any project can render as a board instead of a list. Each section is a column,
with a (No section) column first for unsectioned tasks. Dragging a card between
columns moves the task into that section; dragging within a column reorders it.
Subtasks do not appear as separate cards. Only root tasks do.
Completed
Section titled “Completed”The 200 most recently completed tasks you can see, newest first, grouped by the
day they were completed. Headings read Today, Yesterday, a weekday name
within the past week, or a plain date.
Search
Section titled “Search”Press / anywhere to focus the sidebar search box. Results are grouped:
- Tasks, matched on name or description, incomplete first, then by due date
- Projects, matched on name
- Comments, matched on content, newest first, shown with the task and project they belong to
Matching is case-insensitive substring matching, capped at 50 results per group, and scoped to projects you can access.
Label and filter pages
Section titled “Label and filter pages”Clicking a label lists every incomplete task carrying it. Clicking a filter evaluates its query against your incomplete tasks. Both are covered in Labels and filters.
Deleted projects and tasks, newest first, with a Restore action on each.
Only roots are listed. A deleted subtask under a deleted parent, or a task in a deleted project, is restored with its parent rather than on its own. Restoring a task brings back its whole deleted subtree.
There is no permanent delete. Items stay until you restore them.
Four panels, all computed from the activity log:
- Today, tasks completed today against your daily goal, with a progress bar.
- Past year, a 53-week contribution-style graph, with a total, a busiest-day line, and month labels along the top. What it counts is configurable: completed tasks only, completed and created, or all activity including comments and new projects. See Activity graph source.
- Last 7 days, a bar chart of daily completions.
- Current and longest streak, consecutive days on which you met your daily goal.
Set the daily goal and the graph source in Settings → Preferences.
Reporting
Section titled “Reporting”Reached from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar. It combines the Completed list and the account-wide Activity feed on one page, each capped at 200 entries.
Activity
Section titled “Activity”A chronological feed of what happened, grouped by day. Recorded events:

Task and project names are snapshotted into each event, so the history still reads correctly after the task or project is gone. The log is append-only.
Field edits are not logged: renaming, re-prioritising, rescheduling, reordering, label changes.
Each project has its own filtered version at Project options → Activity.
Onboarding
Section titled “Onboarding”A first-run page with a four-card tour (Capture, Organize, Plan, Find) and the Todoist importer. It is shown once; skipping or finishing records the choice, so it never reappears. You can still reach the importer any time from Settings → Data.
